How to Calculate Mild Steel Bar Weight

In the following construction video tutorial, you will learn some useful tips how to calculate mild steel bar weight.

Mild steel bar weight = W = 2.673 x D² x L

Where W = Bar weight in lbs

D = Bar diameter (in inches)

L = Bar length (in feet)

Formula for calculating the bar weight in kg,

W = 1.213 x D² x L

Mild steel bar diameter = 2 inches

Mild steel bar length = 20 feet

W = 1.213 x D² x L

W = 1.213 x (2)² x 20

W = 97.04 kg
