Calculating the quantity of CFT in a bag of cement
- All we know is that a bag of cement is equal to 50 kg.
- Cement density is 1440kg / m3.
- 1 cubic meters of cement demand = 1440 kg.
- For 1 cubic metersof cement REQD = 1440/50 = 28.8 bags.
- We also know that 1 m3 = 35.3147 CFT.
- Or, 28.8 bags = 35.3147 CFT
- Or 1 Bag = 35.3147 / 28.8 = 1.226 CFT.
Cement is a kind of glue of gum, a kind of material that can be used for curing and hardening the material of the building. The most important type of cement is used as a component in the production of masonry mortar and concrete, which is a combination of cement and aggregate to form a solid building material.
There are 2 types of cement used in construction, hydraulic or non-hydraulic. The given types of cement are based on the ability of the cement to solidify in the presence of water.
Non hydraulic cement shouldn’t be set under wet conditions or underwater, rather it should be set to dry and react with carbon dioxide in the air. After setting, it is resistant to chemical corrosion.
