How to calculate the weight of Mild Steel Bar
In the following tutorial video, one can understand and learn the process of calculating the weight of steel. There are several formulas and methods that we can use. But the most famous and easiest methods are “density method” and the D square 162 method.
Now calculating the weight of Mild Steel Bar:
Weight of steel bars= Cross sectional area of steel bar x Length of steel bar x Density of steel bar.
Cross sectional area = (pi/4)*d*d
Where d is in meter
Density of steel bars = 7850 kg/cubic meter
Let’s take an example
Determined the weight of steel bar required for 200 meter length and 16 mm diameter?
Length of steel bar = 200 m
Diameter of bar = 16 mm=0.016 m
Area of the steel bar = 3.141/4 * (0.016)*(0.016)=2.01*10^-4 sq mt
Now weight of the steel bar= 2.01*10^-4*200*7850=315.66 kg = 316 kg
